Awards and recognition<\/strong><\/p>\n

First published at the age of eleven in the Jongle et ris, La paix compilation, A.M. Matte has collected a number of writing awards, winning notably the Mathieu da Costa Award, the Marisa Ann Golini Memorial Scholarship in Journalism for exceptional ability in investigative reporting, community service and humanitarian interests, as well as the Prix O\u2019Neill-Karch 2008, a provincial playwriting contest. The short story Son of Sun earned her a commendation in the Commonwealth Essay Competition and a mention on the Internet Speculative Fiction Database<\/a> (ISFDB).<\/p>\n

A reading of her award-winning play, Les murs ont des yeux, happened in Ottawa in May 2009. Les fourberies de Moli\u00e8re ou Le Moli\u00e8re imaginaire, which won an award at the Ottawa Fringe Festival in 2004, was produced again in 2008, at the Salon du livre de Toronto.<\/p>\n

A.M. Matte won third place then second place in Good News Toronto\u2019s writing competition and was a Canada Writes Edible Challenge Pick-of-the-day in French: Choix du jour du d\u00e9fi litt\u00e9raire hors d\u2019oeuvres<\/a>.<\/p>\n
